this is not a plastic bag
With all the fuss about going green and how trendy some options have become... is a doomed future still inevitable? Yes, the green movement seems to garner lots of exposure being backed by celebrities and normies alike. However, the impact seems much less than favorable due to basic human characteristics. It has been said by many sources that if nothing is to be done with wasting resources that we are to see some heavy effects within the next 10 - 15 years with no chance of rebounding.
All the movement has seemed to do is instate the fact that we are, in fact, 1. destroying the planet, 2. need to do something about it 3. making small changes such as buying organic products. Call me a pessimist, but these changes don't seem like they will actually bring about change. From direct experience, people continue to leave every light, tv's, etc on. People still excessively waste whether it be driving without considering cleaner options, printing out 100's of sheets of paper a day, and being generally inordinate. These assumptions could be due to my domestic perspective but somehow I'd be pressed to assume this lifestyle crosses international boundaries.
We as a people are so desensitized to "d-day" that no one even attempts to make the big changes to their lifestyle... even if that day is within our lifetime. Well unless its a really cool "not plastic bag" sported by the Olson twins.
I'll get back to my computer, wall chargers, oscilating fan, endless stacks of paper, and powered speakers.

I agree
"I'm the Ali of today. I'm the Marvin Gaye of today. I'm the Bob Marley of today. I'm the Martin Luther King, or all the other greats that have come before us. And a lot of people are starting to realize that now." - R. Kelly

i'm at the top of the top but i still climb
Upon first glance, the preceeding video looks awesome. On second though, building an elevator into the side of a mountain probably isn't the greatest idea. If the original goal was for a breathtaking mountain top view, a good old fashioned hike would arrive at an even better experience.
